My summer sleeping system weighs 630 g in total and this is the lightest sleeping system I have tried to date.
- GramXpert eLite quilt / APEX 67 / Regular / M / 312 g
- sleeping pad Therm-A-Rest Neoair XLite – Small (200 g)
- sleeping mat and sit pad Therm-A-Rest Z-Lite – 4 sections only cut off (118 g)
The Therm-A-Rest Z-Lite is also my sit pad.
The quilt’s rated comfort temperature is 11°C.
For leg & feet support I am using my HMG Windrider 2400 pack.
The GramXpert eLite quilt can be opened up like a normal quilt and then if the temperatures drop you just zip up the foot box, which is how it worked on trail last weekend. The night temperatures were around 17℃ so this sleep system was a winner with the weight and comfort at those temperatures.
However, in my experience when the temperatures drop to under 14℃ I have to supplement the system with my wind pants. My legs were a little chilly. I didn’t take any long johns on that trip. My base weight was 4 kg. I didn’t pack or supplement extra clothing for the sleeping system in any way than I normally would of taken if I had taken a warmer quilt. (Hope that makes sense?)

I plan to only use this sleep system in the summer months.
